While great for home use, I suspect these

were made for upper class hotels & restaurants

as they are heavy to hold well to the table

No maker is indicated on the bottom and

contrary to popular belief all makers of ceramics

didn't rush to stamp their name all over the bottom

as the items were made for use "here" and "now"
