Item Description
This dish is absolutely lovely. It is in near mint condition. It has reticulated edges. A lovely depiction of a windmill near a house and sailboat cruising the canal.
This is a Schumann CS Bavaria reticulated or pierced bread dish. I believe this to be a very rare pattern and an unusual design. This dish looks like it did when it came off the store shelf in 1900.
The mark on the bottom of the dish places it unquestionably between 1900 and 1927. It is marked on the bottom with a green shield that says CS Bavaria with an A for Arzburg, Germany (Bavaria) . This is the mark used by Schumann from 1900 to 1927. It is one of their earliest marks. The C actually stands for Christopher who was Carl Schumann's father.
Measures 9" across and has a footed base. Thanks for looking !!!!!
