Nice fat thick red glass Victorian perfume bottle, this bottle's seal is in the lid, it utilizes a thick piece of glass mounted inside the lid over a spring so it is a glass on glass seal adjustable. Not quite sure if the lid is sterling or not as the only mark is Charles May maker mark, so it very well could be and then it maybe a thick plate unsure and finding out any info on items this old is almost impossible. It does have a few very tiny nicks to the bottom that can be buffed out by a good glassperson and as you can see a small ding in the top of the lid also that can be pushed out by a jeweler with little or no problem and well worth it with this rare size Victorian bottle. This beauty measures 2 3/4" tall by 1 1/2" across the base
