Antique Reverse-Painted Glass Chinese Pendant in Brass

Gorgeous old pendant with a Chinese theme. Cabochon is clear glass, measuring 1" high and 3/4" across. The design of a Chinaman pulling a rickshaw is carved into the back, and painted in metallic gold. The entire background is then painted black to highlight the design. The glass is attached securely into the pendant by fancy prongs on the front and a brass piece on the back. Surrounded by Chinese characters around the edge, the entire pendant measures 1-3/8" high and 1-1/8" wide. On a short, strong chain of double brass links that is about 14-1/4" in circumference. Heavy old brass has a nice aged patina. There are a couple of tiny spots on the front of the glass, in the black part near the top, that are anomalies - one is a very tiny scratch, and the other is a very tiny glob of clear glass that sits on top of the surface. Both are very small and not predominant. Otherwise excellent condition, and a piece of nice quality.
