This silhouette is made from a special silhouette paper and is hand-cut with a knife and mounted on a 8†x 10†mat ready for framing. It is sized and mounted for 8†x 10†picture frame or it also looks very handsome with a mat in a 11†x 14†frame. This listing does not include the frame.

All the black paper silhouettes are cut from the finest acid free paper made specifically for detailed silhouettes. The white and colored silhouettes are cut from acid and lingnin free paper. Both papers yield very sharp images and will remain color fast for generations. The mounting medium is also acid free and the glue is a special product specifically designed for this application.
A word about how I make these silhouettes. They are cut by hand with very sharp small bladed knife. No automatic cutting machines are used and so we classify our silhouettes as handmade. I then mount them on a suitable sized (usually 8" x 10") acid free background backing and then these two together are mounted on a stiff picture mat for insertion into your picture frame. As mentioned earlier these can be mounted in an 8" x 10" frame or look very handsome in an 11" x 14" frame with a mat.
With regard to purchasing frames. I have found that a great source is small stores that carry overstoced items and flea markets. I have purchased very nice frames for 8" x 10" frames with mats for as little as $2.50. There is usually an interesting selection to choose from.
We typically ship within two business days after receipt of your payment or the clearing of your check. However, we do list in several places and if you pick a design that has just sold in another site it may take an extra 1 or 2 days. We will let you know if this happens.
As with any of our items you must be 100% satisfied or you may return the item within 30 days for a full refund including all shipping charges. We do ask that you contact us by email before returning an item which includes the name of the item and your preference regarding receiving the refund.
I ship USPS first class mail in a padded envelope with additional protection inside, however we will ship Priority Mail if you so desire. However, it is our experience that, in most cases, first class is as fast as priority shipping. First class shipping charges are as displayed on the items listing and we do ship worldwide. We do combine shipping cost on multiple item purchases so that you just pay the cost of shipping one item.
