Personnel includes: Kim Hill (vocals); Dave Clifton (acoustic & electric guitars); Paul Franklin (pedal steel guitar); Mark Edwards (accordion, piano, organ, synthesizer, programming); Phil Barker, Dudley Philips (bass); Terl Bryant, Mike Sturges (drums). Recorded at Curtis Schwartz Studios, Sussex, England. One of Kim Hill's more intimate albums, Arms of Mercy is carefully crafted in praise and worship, laced with touches of a folk-rock sound. Passionate and driving, both in musical choices and lyrical content, the project features 11 tracks, varying in style yet not failing to produce an even, well-balanced release. Musically, the song "Committed to the Call" is upbeat and flavored with soft rock, while "All That I Want" relies heavily on rhythms that convey an urgency and intensity matching the track's lyrics.
