It's a DUPONT NO 30 DYNAMITE BLASTING MACHINE established 1802,Wilmington,Delaware,USA. These were used in the coal mines of Pennsylvania many years ago. This one is in very good condition and still has the 3 copper tags,which is all readable.Take a look at the dove tail fittings on what I believe to be an oak case. This guy is heavy...about 22 pounds.It also has a number on the metal handle, which is R2402.It also has US15 carved on the side but its hard to make out.I do not know what that stands for.I am also unsure the year it is.I do know that it works as I myself put my thumbs on the dovetails and had someone hammer it down,and it did give me a shock.Would be good for the collector,or for people mining gold,or whatever you want to mine.
