Antique Framed Early 1900s Mother Poem George Cooper
Early 1900s framed Mother Poem under glass
Beautiful antique piece, could be as old as late 1800s
Piece features a mother in a sitting chair with her son and daughter reading a book
Poem reads:
MOTHER
Hundreds of dewdrops
To greet the dawn,
Hundreds of bees
In the purple clover,
Hundreds of butterflies
On the lawn,
But only one Mother
The wide world over.

George Cooper was a poet from the United States
He was born in 1838 and he died in 1927
Nothing
is known of George Cooper's early life, but both before, during, and
after the American Civil War, he was a prolific poet and lyricist.
Cooper wrote words for the music of many composers. His life became so
intimately involved with the life of Stephen Collins Foster that most
information on Cooper is only available in various Foster biographies
The above poem is the second verse in the poem titled: Only One Mother
The full poem is as follows:
Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky,
Hundreds of shells on the shore together,
Hundreds of birds that go singing by,
Hundreds of lambs in the sunny weather.
Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,
Hundreds of bees in the purple clover,
Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn,
But only one mother the wide world over
Some light antique spotting on the paper, mostly in the corners
Wooden silver frame has some light paint loss which adds to the antique charm
The backing is covered and has some side areas that have come slightly loose with age
Measures 11 1/4 inches by 6 1/4 inches

within the U.S. via USPS with Delivery Confirmation will be $9.95.
Insured U.S. shipping is optional but recommended as I cannot control
what happens to your package once I hand it over to the Post Office. If
you would like insurance please include $1.70 in the total. If you would
like me to ship outside the U.S. please contact me for a shipping quote
as international shipping rates will be higher.

Returns
are accepted within 2 days of receiving item. Buyer must contact me at
sanibelsheller@msn.com to initiate a return. Buyer pays all shipping
fees. Item must be returned in the same condition it was shipped in,
unopened or unworn if new etc. Items must be safely received by me
before I will issue a refund.
