ANTIQUE BIRD PIN SILVER W/ BLUE STONES TROMBONE CLASP

The following listing is for a very old pin or brooch. The pin features a wonderful looking bird, with a variety of stones used in it's make up. The head has a faceted stone which is similar in appearance to a Rainbow or Mystic Quartz and has red and green stripes against clear. The body has a stone that may be either a star sapphire or moonstone. As you can see, I'm no expert at stones, so please use your own judgement. The rest of the stones are a dark sapphire color. One is a large oval shape, and the others are baguettes. These are gorgeous stones, nicely faceted, and beautiful color! I'm not sure if they are glass, synthetic stones, or what, but they are beautifully done!Although I cannot find any markings on it, I would be VERY surprised to find that it wasn't silver. The tail is textured. The pin has a trombone clasp mechanism, as you can see in the photos. This is in very good condition, although the bird is missing two of it's tiny talons or claws. This is not highly noticeable at all, especially when worn, as they are truly tiny claws. The pin measures approximately 1" tall by about 1 1/4". Very lovely and very rare!!
