Item Description
The following listing is for a German badge or pin. It's made of brass in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath, with a swastika and bow on the bottom. The center has the stylized letters, DRL, which stands for Deutsches Reichsbund Leibesubungen (German National Union for Physical Training) On the back is the maker's name~~Wernstein Jena~~and~D.R.G.M. 35269~~which stands for German National Registered Design, 35269. The badge was an award given to both males and females as an incentive for acheivement in physical training. I believe it dates 1937. It measures just under 2" by 1 1/2". The condition is good, although the pin is a bit bent. There is a bit of oxidation evident in two places, as seen in the photo. This was found in an attic locally that we bought the contents of and is fresh to the market! Beautiful piece of brass!!
