Bound in navy cloth with bright gilt embossing, this antique set is a
scarce history of the US Navy. The work is illustrated with
frontispiece portraits and engravings throughout. The title pages of
Volumes I-IV show the set is complete in four volumes, and the title
page of Volume V shows the set is complete in five volumes. The fifth
volume is bound with white lettering on the spine instead of gilt
embossing, and does not have gilt embossing on the front board. The
books in this set come from the library of a historical society and
contain typical stamps and markings. The volumes show mild external
age/wear, with some sunning and water markings, and are solidly bound
with lightly age toned pages.
