This one of a kind contemporary medicine wheel is about 3" round or about 7 1/2 centimeters round. Once you add the length of the leather and feathers... it reaches 13 inches long or about 33 centimeters long. This medicine wheel is made with wine grain skin leather. It also has white and irridescent beads, natural hackle feathers, coco heishi beads, and sinew. All of the feathers I use are cleansed and sanitized.
The meaning of the medicine wheel will vary from tribe to tribe and clan to clan. For some, it represents the life stages of man. For others, it is said to represent the four directions. east, south, west, and north. For me.. it represents the four elements. earth, wind, water, and fire. without any of these elements the universe is not complete. Natural healing and growth can not be achieved.
I have cleansed (smudged) this medicine wheel as this is the proper way.
