MY NAME IS SUSAN HIGH CLOUD AND I AM A TRIBAL MEMBER OF THE WACCAMAW INDIAN PEOPLE OF SOUTH CAROLINA. I HAVE A CERTIFICATE AS A NATIVE AMERICAN ARTIST.

TODAY I MADE THIS LOVELY CONTEMPORARY MEDICINE WHEEL. THIS MEDICINE WHEEL IS 3 INCHES ROUND AND 17 INCHES LONG OR ABOUT 43 CENTIMETERS LONG. I USED REAL SOFT BLACK GRAIN SKIN LEATHER, MAROON AND GOLD TONE BEADS, BLACK HACKLE FEATHERS, AND WOOD HEISHI BEADS.

MEDICINE WHEELS ARE BELIEVED TO BRING GOOD LUCK AND THE OWNERS LIFE WILL PROSPER. IT WAS SAID TO ALSO KEEP ONE SAFE AND HEALTHY.

THE MEDICINE WHEEL IS KNOWN BY MANY NAMES AND THE MEANINGS MAY VARY. THIS VARIES FROM TRIBE TO TRIBE AND CLAN TO CLAN.

I HAVE CLEANSED ( SMUDGED ) THIS MEDICINE WHEEL; AS THIS IS THE PROPER WAY.
