This Coin has the same metallic content as the 1909 Lincoln cent

There are a total of four different reverse deigns planned, each of which will represent a different stage of President Lincoln’s life.

The first newly designed 2009 Lincoln Cent was released on February 12, 2009.

The first design portrays a log cabin to represent Lincoln’s humble
"roots" or upbringing.

Abraham Lincoln grew up on his family’s' 30 acres of Knob Creek Farm near Hodgenville, Kentucky.

An inscription on the coin indicates his birth year as “1809.”

Additional inscriptions include “United States of America,” “E Pluribus Unum,”
and “One Cent.”

The obverse of the coin continues to feature the original portrait of Lincoln from the famous Victor D. Brenner.

The new design was officially launched at a ceremony in Hodgenville, Kentucky on February 12, 2009.
