This Coin has the same metallic content as the 1909 Lincoln cent

There are a total of four different reverse deigns planned, each of which will represent a different stage of President Lincoln’s life.

The second design portrays President Abraham Lincoln in his younger years as a Rail Splitter in the Great State of Indiana.

Inscriptions include “United States of America,” “E Pluribus Unum,” and “One Cent.”

The obverse of the coin continues to feature the original portrait of Lincoln from the famous Victor D. Brenner.

The new design was officially launched at a ceremony in Lincoln City,Indiana on March 14 ,2009.
