You are viewing an extremely unique and hard-to-find R. Vandamme 1995 Large Ceramic Birdhouse.
The face appears to be mounted to wood, which is actually the same material, only painted to look like wood.The facial creases are enhanced with dark brown paint, as well as some brown rubbing on various parts of the face.The entire piece is covered with a clear glossy finish and there are two eye-screws mounted on the front and back of the ‘wood’ where a chain would be attached.
This birdhouse face is called “JESTERâ€, according to the label still attached to the bottom.
*This birdhouse has been refinished:the green ‘wood’ has been repainted and the face has been refinished.
I purchased this and three other pieces in 1995.All are currently listed.
