1981 Kentucky Derby Glass

5 1/4 inch tall glass is in excellent condition with mint graphics on a frosted background
Back of the glass lists the previous 106 Kentucky Derby Winners and the years with special markings for the fillies and the Triple Crown Winners
The 1981 Kentucky Derby Winner was Pleasant Colony and the jockey was Jorge Velasquez in a time of 2:02.
Pleasant Colony went on to win the Preakness Stakes but finished third in the Belmont Stakes
At the end of this 3 year old season, Pleasant Colony was sent to stud duty at Buckland Farm where he stood from 1982 to 1998, producing 73 stakes race winners including more than a dozen Grade I winners and champions. He is the damsire of Forestry, who sired a yearling (The Green Monkey) that was sold in February 2006 for a world record price of $16 million.
In 2000, Pleasant Colony was pensioned and sent to Blue Ridge Farm in Virginia where he died in 2002 at the age of 24

Returns are accepted within 2 days of receiving item. Buyer must contact me at sanibelsheller@msn.com to initiate a return. Buyer pays all shipping fees.
