5 1/4 inch tall glass is in excellent condition with mint graphics on a frosted background
Back of the glass lists the previous 105 Kentucky Derby Winners and the years with special markings for the Triple Crown Winners
The 1980 Kentucky Derby Winner was Genuine Risk and the jockey was Jacinto Vasquez in a time of 2:02.
Genuine Risk was the second of only three fillies to ever have won The Kentucky Derby after Regret 65 years earlier. She went on to finish second to Codex in the controversial Preakness Stakes and also finished second in the Belmont Stakes. She is the only filly to finish in the top three of each of the Triple Crown races and she was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1986
Genuine Risk was the first Kentucky Derby winner bred to another Kentucky Derby winner, Secretariat, the 1973 Triple Crown Winner. Their first union produced a stillborn colt and although she was bred back to Secretariat several times, no foals were produced.
In the 17 years Genuine Risk was a broodmare, she only produced two living foals, one in 1993 and one in 1996, neither of whom ever raced
Retired from breeding in 2000, she spent the rest of her life at the Newstead Farm in Virginia where she died on August 18, 2008 at the age of 31 after eating a hearty breakfast and being turned out to paddock
