Back of the glass lists the previous 102 Kentucky Derby Winners and the years with special markings for the Triple Crown Winners

Seattle Slew belongs to the exclusive club of Triple Crown Winners, he being the 10th of only 11 horses to claim that crown and has the added claim of being the first and only undefeated Triple Crown winner with a perfect 9 for 9 record when he won the Belmont Stakes
Seattle Slew was named Champion 2 year old, Champion 3 year old, and received the Eclipse Award for American Horse of the Year. In 1981 he was elected to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame
In 1978, Seattle Slew and Affirmed, the 1978 Triple Crown Winner raced in the Marlboro Cup in what was acclaimed to be the first ever match up between two Triple Crown Winners. Seattle Slew won this race in a time that was 2/5 of a second off the track record set by Secretariat
Seattle Slew finished his racing career with 14 wins and 2 seconds in 17 races
At stud he went on to sire 100 stakes winners and he is the only Belmont Stakes winner to sire a Belmont Stakes winner (A.P. Indy) who in turn sired a Belmont Stakes winner (Rags To Riches)
Seattle Slew died on May 7, 2002 at the age of 28 on the 25th anniversary of his Kentucky Derby win and he is buried at Hill n Dale Farms in Kentucky
