Item Description

This is a very good condition 90% silver 1935 Third Reich 5 mark coin. At the start of the Third Reich in 1933 there was a ceremonial handshake between President Paul von Hindenburg and the new Chancellor Adolf Hitler on 21 March 1933 in Potsdam's Garnisonkirche (Garrison Church). This coin symbolised a coalition of the military (Reichswehr) and Nazism. It has the Reichseagle with two swastikas on either side and Deutsches Reich above eagle. Text is engraved into the edge of the coin. This coin was minted in 1934 and 1935. This is for one of the 1935 issues. This coin is in used but excellent condition
