During the Civil War, nearly all Gold and Silver, and eventually the Copper Nickel Cent, disappeared from circulation and in larger cities, copper tokens were issued by merchants. The Government approved the Act of April 22, 1864 to issue a Bronze Cent and made the merchants' tokens illegal. You are bidding on a worn out 1907 Bronze Indian Head Penny that grades "About Good " with damage on the obverse and reverse! This Indian Head Penny can only be used as a filler in your Indian Head Penny collection. Bidding starts at only 1 cent (face value) and shipping is $2.00 but if buyer has won another of my auctions the same day, then shipping can be combined (only 30 cents for each additional auction won)!
