Item Description
This is a vintage Henri Pouisson Alto Horn that I believe was made around 1900 . . . give of take about 10 years. I can't find any information on the maker Henri Pouisson, but I did find information on the importer W. J. Dyer. This importer was in business starting in 1855. In 1885, the business name was changed to W.J. Dyer & Bro. For that reason, this Alto Horn was made after 1885.
This Alto Horn comes with a nice wooden case. It has a hand painted flower design on both sides of the case. This case seems structurally strong, but the hinges will need to be replaced as well as the handle. This Alto does not come with a mouthpiece.
The Alto itself is currently not in playing condition due to a crack in the lead pipe that needs to be soldered. The main tuning slide and valves all move freely, but the valve tuning slides are all stuck. I took many photos to show that this Alto has many dings and dents. This Alto is a good candidate for restoration.
