Item Description
An Original 1890s to early 1900s hat. Dress military style Fraternal groups hat. Hand made by a Boston hat maker.
Original Boston Bent & Bush hat. Hat makers to military for civil war years and beyond. This hat is in excellent uncleaned condition. NO apparent holes or moth damage. Leather sweat band is in great condition, visor is old thick leather. ( I think they boiled leather to form visor shape). Visor has some crazing and attached dirt damage. I have not bothered to clean old stuck on stuff. Bad condition seems normal for these visors. Officers braid around base of cover, very early templar CROSS buttons. (IF for military or Marine it would have marine/naval buttons). Templar cross is partly attached. Old bullion and hand embroidery work, also early bullion braided officers strap. Brass name plate attached inside. manufactured by Bent & Bush. I CONSIDER THIS IN VERY GOOD USED CONDITION.
