Item Description
Winner of the Most Popular Coin title in the 2011 Coin of the Year awards.
This popular coin from the Austrian Mint's Tales and Legends in Austrian series tells the storey of a brave baker's apprentice who faces a menacing basilisk, a creature that was part snake, toad and cockerel, in order to save his village and to have the hand of the baker's daughter in marriage.
The obverse of this coin includes an image of the baker's house, with the name of the street Schoenlaterngasse across the top in a scroll, along with the value value, year of mintage and "Republik Oesterreich".
