This wonderful proof 1970, 8 coin set, has the florin, half crown, six pence, English shilling, Scottish shilling, penny and half penny and the token from the Royal Mint set in a protective hard case with a booklet from the mint with the story of each coin.
The set contains some of the lastexamples of coinage whose development can be traced back over 12 hundred years.
The United Kindom adopted a decimal coinage system on Febuary 15, 1971. This proof set contains some of the last examples of the old coinage.
