Got one of these? Issued in 1978, the 1958 Corvette was the only year that had not yet been issued in 1/25 except for a couple of less than quality items. Therefore the attempt was made to make a model that would �fill the gap� and sported better detail than anything yet produced. It was the �missing Link� in the chain of 1/25 Corvette models. Cast in metal by Banthrico as a private issue, less than 300 of these pieces were made. The tool for this model is no longer intact and therefore can never be produced again. The base plate is flat steel with a coin slot cut in it. Tires are rubber. This model was featured in the Jan/ Feb 1984 issue of �Corvette Fever� magazine.
