The cross shield is a miniature replica of the shield worn in battle by young Celtic warriors. The shield was the warrior's protective devise made of heavy iron. But to the warrior of virtue, the archetypal “Virtuous Man,†the cross shield provided a mystical protection. It was said that the loyal “Warrior of Virtue†wearing the cross shield was protected by Divine Intervention.

The piece is bonded with both brushed 14K yellow gold and highly polished white gold.
While the product is not solid gold, no one can discern the difference. A band of thin shiny copper is actually hand woven around the neck of the cross.
