***RARE*** GUARDIAN SERVICE RICER ***
Other than the ball pitcher the GUARDIAN SERVICE RICER is one of the rare pieces of cooking utensils that Guardian Service ever produced. It is marked very clearly Guardian Service and has a picture of a knight and Pats. Pend. It measures 10 ½†tall and about 12†from leg to leg. It stands on three removable legs that have rubber bushing on each to hold it from sliding. The legs detach very easily from the unit to make for very easy cleaning and storage. The original wood pestle is included and is 12†long and in good condition. The Guardian emblem appears very clearly but in this picture is barely visible. This unit is not perfect it has a few dings but please remember its over 60 years old and still works fine. It is a really nice sturdy piece. Page 25 in the 1935 original cookbook gives instructions on how the GUARDIAN FOOD SAVER (AS IT IS CALLED IN THE COOKBOOK) is to be used. This also specifies that since no instructions are included in the 72 page cookbook the units were discontinued prior to 1941. Due to the angle of how this picture was taken only 2 legs are shown but all 3 are included. This is one clean piece as seen in the picture. As a bonus to the winner I will include a FREE reproduction copy of this 1935 cookbook. What a great addition to any GUARDIAN COLLECTION.
